baumalight-rss380-stump-planer
Baumalight Stump Planer RSS380 For Skid Steers

The Baumalight RSS380 Stump Planer turns a compatible skid steer into a controlled stump-removal tool for landscape restoration, property maintenance, and clearing after tree removal. Its hydraulic planetary drive works at low speed, shaving the stump into coarse chips rather than producing the fine material associated with a high-speed cutting wheel. This approach helps limit chip scatter around the work area while giving the operator a deliberate cutting process for urban properties, rural yards, and confined jobsites.

This package pairs the RSS380 drive with the D002771 standard four-knife planer head, so the cutting tool is included in the selected configuration. The standard head combines a hardened replaceable entry tip with sharpenable AR500 leading blades and AR400 cleanup blades. Its leading knives span 11 inches and its cleanup knives span 17 inches. Choose the D003218 Christmas Tree Planer option for a smaller head in place of the standard head; the standard head's blade specifications do not apply to that option.

Use a compatible carrier within the 5,000 lb maximum weight limit for planing, with recommended hydraulic flow of 20–40 GPM. Recommended operating pressure is 2,500–3,000 PSI; a case drain is recommended below 3,000 PSI and required at or above 3,000 PSI. The package includes the skid-steer mounting plate and hydraulic hoses, with protected hose routing and an anti-slip cab-access strip.

For stumps wider than the standard head, begin at one edge and make successive cuts around the perimeter before finishing the reduced center with the cleanup blades. This sequence helps avoid leaving an outer ridge that is difficult to remove. Heavy-duty housing, a protective powder-coated finish, and main-shaft seal protection support ongoing field use. Consult the supplied manual for operation and maintenance, maintain the required work-area clearance.
