MOST IMPORTANT FEATURES

12" CUTTING CAPACITY

CAPACITY OF UP TO 12 INCHES DEFINES THE WORKING ENVELOPE, WHILE WOOD TYPE AND AVAILABLE HYDRAULIC PRESSURE DETERMINE WHICH TREE DIAMETERS YOUR MATCHED CARRIER CAN ACTUALLY CUT.

AR400 STEEL BLADE

ABRASION RESISTANT AR400 STEEL PROVIDES A TOUGH CUTTING SURFACE FOR TREE CLEARING, WITH HYDRAULIC CYLINDER POWER DRIVING THE BLADE THROUGH SUITABLE WOODY MATERIAL ON A COMPATIBLE CARRIER.

90 DEGREE PIVOT

A FULL 90 DEGREE PIVOT RANGE LETS THE HEAD CHANGE CUTTING ORIENTATION BETWEEN STANDING TREES AND HORIZONTAL LIMBS, SUPPORTING DIFFERENT CLEARING TASKS WITH ONE PROPERLY EQUIPPED MACHINE.

SERVICEABLE PIVOT POINTS

GREASEABLE PINS AND HARDENED STEEL BUSHINGS SUPPORT ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AT THE MOVING JOINTS, HELPING KEEP THE CUTTING AND HANDLING ASSEMBLY READY FOR REPEATED OUTDOOR TREE CLEARING WORK.

CARRIER MATCHED SETUP

CARRIER AND HYDRAULIC FLOW RANGES HELP GUIDE ATTACHMENT SELECTION, WITH MOUNTING, CONNECTIONS, LIFT CAPACITY, AND MACHINE STABILITY CHECKED TOGETHER BEFORE ORDERING AND PUTTING THE SHEAR INTO SERVICE.

Applications

Baumalight IXP512G

The Baumalight IXP512G Tree Shear turns a compatible excavator into a focused tool for cutting small trees and managing woody growth. Its hydraulic cutting action is designed for a capacity of up to 12 inches, helping contractors and property owners clear access routes, reclaim overgrown ground, and remove selected trees. The excavator mounting arrangement brings the shear to the end of the boom for positioning within the machine’s working reach.

An abrasion-resistant AR400 steel blade and a hydraulic cylinder provide the core cutting mechanism. A full 90-degree pivot range supports upright tree cutting and horizontal limb removal. An individually moving grabber arm and fixed curved cradle bar help hold and relocate sheared material. Those handling features support the cutting workflow, while careful positioning and stable carrier operation remain essential.

Match this attachment to 8–20 ton excavators, with auxiliary hydraulic flow of 15–60 GPM. Cutting performance changes with hydraulic pressure and wood type, so the maximum diameter is a selection guide rather than a promise for every tree. Use Baumalight’s cutting-performance chart to compare your available pressure with the expected species and trunk diameter. A tree shear leaves roots and a stump in the ground; plan a separate removal step when the site requires complete root extraction.

Greaseable pivot points, hardened steel bushings, and protected hydraulic hose routing support regular field service. The bolt-on mounting plate connects to the included carrier-matched excavator mount. Boom wires, hoses, and couplers are sold separately; an auxiliary electrical connection with one ON/OFF pin and ground is required, and the optional hand control needs custom boom wiring. Follow the operator’s manual for inspection, maintenance, and field operation.
