Baumalight MS1472

The Baumalight MS1472 Heavy Duty Fixed Tooth Forestry Mulcher is the largest and most powerful brush mulcher in Baumalight’s MS series, built for high-flow skid steers and compact track loaders tackling demanding land-clearing work. With an 84-inch path and a 72-inch rotor, the MS1472 combines the cutting efficiency of Baumalight’s 1100 Series planer-tooth design with the impact resistance of the 900 Series ripper-tooth system for fast, controlled production in dense vegetation, standing trees, and mixed ground conditions.

Its unique dual-tooth rotor places fourteen P11000 sharpenable planer teeth through the center section, where operators typically engage standing material and can better monitor ground conditions. Twenty-four R9000 double-tipped ripper teeth are positioned toward the outer sections of the rotor to withstand tougher impacts and handle rocky or below-grade material more effectively. This combination gives the MS1472 an efficient cutting zone in the center while adding durability where hidden stones and debris are harder to see.

The 1400 Series rotor is engineered with depth-control rings that regulate bite size and guide material toward the center of the drum, helping maintain rotor momentum and consistent particle size while reducing unnecessary stalling. An integrated push bar and directional felling hook give operators more control when positioning, pushing, and felling standing trees, while adjustable skid shoes allow the cutting height to be tuned for the terrain and application.

Built for commercial duty, the MS1472 features a heavy-duty frame, replaceable bolt-in AR400 wear liners, sleeved and protected hydraulic hoses, reinforced belt drive components, and a 3/8-inch rear chain curtain for debris control. The attachment is offered exclusively with Baumalight’s D147X2 variable two-speed motor, supporting a broad 20–75 GPM hydraulic range and allowing rotor speed and torque to be matched to changing material conditions. A case drain is required, and hydraulic couplers are ordered separately to match the carrier.

Designed for skid steers and compact track loaders with a minimum operating weight of 7,500 lbs, the MS1472 is built for contractors, land-clearing crews, right-of-way maintenance, forestry work, and large-scale property reclamation where maximum productivity and durability are required.

Baumalight MS1472

  • Dual-Tooth Cutting System – Fourteen P11000 planer teeth in the center maximize cutting efficiency while twenty-four R9000 ripper teeth toward the sides add impact resistance for mixed and rocky ground.
  • High-Production 84-Inch Path – A wide 84-inch mulching path and 72-inch rotor cover more ground per pass for faster commercial land clearing.
  • Variable Two-Speed Hydraulic Motor – The D147X2 motor supports 20–75 GPM and lets rotor speed and torque be adjusted to match changing material and job conditions.
  • Depth-Control Rotor Design – Bite-limiting rings regulate material engagement, preserve rotor momentum, and help produce consistent particle size with less stalling.
  • Integrated Felling Control – The push bar and directional felling hook help position standing material and guide trees into the cutting chamber with greater control.
  • Replaceable AR400 Wear Protection – Bolt-in AR400 wear liners protect high-contact areas and can be serviced without replacing the entire housing.
  • Commercial-Grade Debris Protection – A 3/8-inch rear chain curtain and protected hydraulic hose routing help control flying debris and reduce exposure to damage.
