The Baumalight RSX780 Log Splitter turns a compatible excavator into a practical tool for breaking down logs and bulky woody material. Its hydraulically powered planetary drive delivers rotational force to a 14-inch-long, 8-inch-diameter splitting cone, allowing the operator to approach material horizontally or vertically as the work area permits. This package includes the RSX780 drive and the complete D003935 splitting cone assembly, and a carrier-matched excavator mount, all included in the listed price.

Two helical spirals guide the cone into the wood, starting at a hardened, replaceable entry tip. Rather than relying on a conventional cylinder and wedge, the rotating cone opens the log as it advances. The 8-bolt flange connection securely couples the cone to the drive, while a protective flange helps shield the main shaft seal from debris. An integrated pressure gauge helps the operator monitor workload, and a bent-axis piston motor supplies power for demanding hydraulic applications.

Match the RSX780 to a carrier supplying a recommended 20–55 GPM at 2,500–4,500 PSI; the maximum limits are 65 GPM and 5,000 PSI. A case drain is required and is crucial to correct motor operation. Baumalight specifies a maximum 18-ton excavator for splitter use, with a lower 15-ton limit when operating an optional planer. No separate 12-volt electrical supply is required.

Built for farms, contractors, and property-maintenance crews, the RSX780 helps reduce large pieces of wood before further handling or processing. The drive-and-cone package includes a carrier-matched bolt-on excavator mount. Hydraulic hoses are sold separately.
