The Baumalight RSX780 Stump Planer turns a compatible excavator into a controlled stump-removal tool for landscape restoration, property maintenance, and clearing after tree removal. Its hydraulic planetary drive works at low speed, shaving the stump into coarse chips rather than producing the fine material associated with a high-speed cutting wheel. This approach helps limit chip scatter around the work area while giving the operator a deliberate cutting process for urban properties, rural yards, and confined jobsites.

This package pairs the RSX780 drive with the D003381 flange-mount planer head, with a carrier-matched excavator mount included in the selected configuration. The standard head combines a hardened replaceable entry tip with sharpenable AR500 leading blades and AR400 cleanup blades. Its leading knives span 11 inches and its cleanup knives span 21 inches.

Use a compatible carrier within the 15 tons maximum weight limit for planing, with recommended hydraulic flow of 20–55 GPM. The piston motor supports recommended operating pressure of 2,500–4,500 PSI, and a dedicated case drain is required. The drive-and-head package includes a carrier-matched bolt-on excavator mount. Hydraulic hoses are sold separately. Confirm the coupler, plumbing, and carrier setup before ordering.

For stumps wider than the standard head, begin at one edge and make successive cuts around the perimeter before finishing the reduced center with the cleanup blades. This sequence helps avoid leaving an outer ridge that is difficult to remove. Heavy-duty housing, a protective powder-coated finish, and main-shaft seal protection support ongoing field use. Consult the supplied manual for operation and maintenance, maintain the required work-area clearance.
