Built around a ¾-inch thick steel rotor, the S18 delivers the durability, rigidity, and momentum needed to power through hardwood stumps and dense root systems. The cutting rotor extends 1¼ inches past the face of the disc, allowing chips to clear freely instead of packing up. This results in smoother operation, reduced heat buildup, and longer component life.
The S18 is available with three motor options (S250, S400, and S450), allowing operators to match the grinder precisely to their hydraulic flow. At 12 GPM, the S18 with an S450 motor and 2,500 PSI can grind a 24-inch stump in approximately 60 minutes—or 50 minutes at 3,000 PSI. Increasing flow to 15 GPM cuts that time down even further.
A high tooth count ensures each carbide tooth removes only a small slice of material, allowing them to last longer, stay sharper, and typically require replacement in small sets instead of full rings. When tooth maintenance is required, the bolt-on tooth design allows for quick replacements and minimal downtime.
