The Baumalight S22 Stump Grinder is built for skid steer operators who want fast, controlled stump removal without sacrificing hydraulic power to the swing function. Instead of using a hydraulic swing cylinder, the S22 uses a 12-volt electric linear actuator to sweep the cutting head across the stump, allowing the skid steer’s hydraulic flow and pressure to stay dedicated to the rotor for stronger torque and faster grinding.

Designed for owner-operators and contractors running full-size skid steers, the S22 mounts to a universal skid steer quick-attach plate and uses a 24-inch rotor fitted with thirty-four replaceable S1000 planer teeth. The high tooth count spreads the cutting load across more teeth, creating smoother operation, reducing vibration, and extending tooth life while producing a clean, controlled grind through hardwood, softwood, and root-heavy stumps.

The 12-volt swing system provides a 60-degree cutting arc and requires a 30-amp fused power supply. Machines equipped with an auxiliary electrical connector can control the swing directly from the cab, while an optional wired hand-control kit is available for older skid steers without an auxiliary plug. Because the electric actuator handles the sweep function, the S22 can devote the carrier’s hydraulic output directly to the cutting motor.

Baumalight offers the S22 with two gerotor motor configurations to match different hydraulic systems. The S450 motor is intended for lower-flow machines in the 12–20 GPM range, while the S550 supports approximately 15–30 GPM for higher-output carriers. A floating debris deflector helps contain chips throughout the cutting arc, and carbide teeth extend 1¼ inches from the rotor to improve chip clearance and reduce heat buildup.

With a maximum cutting depth of 10 inches below grade, up to 6 inches of cutting depth per pass, a 22-inch maximum horizontal cut, and a shipping weight of approximately 760 lbs, the S22 is a compact, productive stump-removal attachment for landscaping, property maintenance, arborist work, farm cleanup, and general land-clearing applications.
