The Crystal Quest Metal Removal Whole House Water Filter is designed to eliminate common groundwater contaminants that affect water quality, taste, and safety. This system specifically targets iron, manganese, and hydrogen sulfide—elements known for causing metallic tastes, discoloration, foul odors, and buildup in plumbing and appliances.
By combining advanced filtration media with optional smart enhancements, this system offers a reliable and customizable solution for residential water treatment, particularly for homes relying on well water or aging municipal infrastructure.
System Overview
Targeted Metal Removal
Reduces iron, manganese, and hydrogen sulfide through a specialized mineral tank. Includes Eagle Redox Alloys® 6500 and 9500 to inhibit bacteria growth and support long-term performance.
Pre-Filtration Stage
A 20-inch sediment cartridge removes larger particulates such as sand, silt, and dirt, improving water clarity and protecting downstream filtration components.
Post-Filtration Stage
A 20-inch solid carbon cartridge further purifies water by removing volatile organic compounds (VOCs), industrial solvents, pesticides, and other chemical residues.
Optional Upgrades
SMART Water Filter
A proprietary blend of catalytic coconut shell GAC, dual ERA® alloys, and ion exchange resin. Enhances contaminant removal performance by reducing heavy metals, chlorine, chloramine, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and petroleum byproducts. Ceramic and tourmaline elements help maintain balanced pH levels.
Water Softener
Uses ion exchange resin to remove hardness-causing minerals such as calcium and magnesium. Recommended in cases where filtration media may increase water hardness. Helps prevent scale buildup, extends appliance life, and improves soap effectiveness.
UV Water Sterilizer
An optional 12 GPM ultraviolet sterilizer that provides chemical-free disinfection by neutralizing bacteria, viruses, algae, and protozoa.
Leak Detector Valve
Detects leaks and automatically shuts off water flow to prevent property damage.
Vacuum Breaker
Protects tanks and housings against negative pressure conditions that could otherwise cause damage.
Metered Valve
An upgrade from the standard timer valve, this option triggers backwash cycles based on water usage instead of time intervals—helping conserve water and reduce maintenance.
Oxidation System
An optional ozone-based oxidation module for enhanced contaminant breakdown and disinfection.
Configuration Options
-
System Types: Standalone, with SMART filter, with softener, or combined configurations
-
Structure Choices: Fiberglass or stainless steel tank options
-
Resin Capacities: 1.5 cu. ft. (1,000,000 gallons) or 2.0 cu. ft. (1,500,000 gallons)
Maintenance Consideration
Stainless steel tanks may develop surface imperfections over time in high-humidity or salty environments, especially if condensation is not wiped regularly. If low maintenance or environmental exposure is a concern, fiberglass tanks are strongly recommended.
